Description
SAS unique innovation is seen in the SAS Primal Target Compound Bow. It is one of a kind as far as the SAS lineup is concerned.
If you like doing a lot of field shooting or you want to introduce yourself to target shooting, this is a great choice to begin with.
At first glance, the SAS Primal looks pretty well-made. There aren’t many reviews on it, but we believe this is a good bow that will grow your archery skills.
This is an excellent choice for young shooters and women who can pull a peak poundage of 50 pounds.
Material and Design
The SAS Primal riser is made of heavy-duty material and has an incredibly distinctive look. The riser is also solid and red in color.
The riser’s geometry is unique and very efficient. The handle’s design extracts sufficient energy from your draw, decreasing vibration and promoting faster aiming.
The Primal is fitted with quad carbon limbs, which are apparently lighter than ordinary limbs. The carbon limbs are not easily affected by humid environments.
The limbs are also good at resisting warping, making them highly durable. They also draw smoothly and they’ll hardly stack.
The split limb design offers additional strength and structural integrity. Unlike solid limbs, the SAS Primal limbs will not crack after repeated dry shots.
The bow comes with no peep sight, and it does not have a nocking point. You will have to install one yourself.
Cam Information
The SAS Primal comes with a high-performance twin cam system, which supplies the bow with a sufficient let-off of 65%.
The twin cam system on this model features two perfectly symmetrical pulley cams, which are not that difficult to tune.
When properly tuned, the SAS Primal cam system delivers excellent nock travel, accuracy, and general arrow speed.
The CNC machined twin cams are ideal for target shooting because they tend to load a significant amount of kinetic energy for superior shots.
Suitability for Hunting
You should know that the SAS Primal is a considerably long bow, measuring 40 ½ inches axle to axle. From a hunting point of view, this bow length may not be ideal for tree stand shooting.
However, the long axle to axle length is suitable for target shooters. The long bow length reduces pinch and provides excellent accuracy.
With this masterpiece, you can effectively hunt big game from exaggerated distances where pinpoint accuracy is needed. The long bow length also makes the bow more stable.
The timing of the twin cams is amazing, providing you with a let-off of 65%. This ensures that you only hold a few pounds of the peak poundage.
The speed; however, isn’t as fast as you would get with most compact bows. The draw length is also limited, instead of 12 inches, you only get 6 inches of adjustment.
Overall, this is a fairly good hunting bow, but it is an excellent targeting shooting bow.
Suggested Arrows
We recommend you to use 30-inch carbon arrows with this bow. Carbon arrows are usually strong and suitable for target shooting and hunting.
Make sure the arrows have a superior wall thickness and they are fitted with lightweight carbon shafts for added durability.
We also commend arrows that are fletched, nocked, and fitted with removable tips for attaching broad head.

Pros:
- Highly adjustable draw weight
- Long axle to axle length is suitable for target shooting
- CNC machined twin cams offer a smooth draw
- Quad carbon limbs are highly flexible
- Twin cams deliver excellent nock travel and accuracy
Cons:
- Limited bow speed
- Not highly maneuverable when hunting from a tree stand
Ready to Hunt Package
The bow comes with a ready to hunt package that includes: a peep sight, a bow sling, a stabilizer, an arrow rest, and a 5-pin bow sight.
Closing Shot
This is a great long compound bow that is suitable for field shooting. It is a good choice for beginners or intermediate shooters.
The 35 to 50 pounds draw weight range is ideal for young shooters and women. The 65% let-off ensures you only hold a fraction of the peak poundage, improving accuracy.
You will hardly lose confidence when using this bow. You can even make unique shots from overstated distance and still be able to hit the target.
